Running the Windows SMS Server allows for the integration of SMS functionality into other applications and projects. Managing all communication between the remote user and the CardBoardFish SMS gateway, it removes the complexity otherwise associated with such advanced functionaity. It can also be used to automate the creation of batches.

More Information:

The Windows SMS Server is a file based server that accepts specially formated .SMS files, processes them and submits the resulting text messages to the CardBoardFish SMS gateway for delivery. These files can be created automatically by the application, when creating a batch for example, or by the customers own applications. In conjunction with an FTP server, customers can even submit .SMS files to the application remotely. Learn more about .SMS files here.

Similarly, delivery receipts are created as .DLR files. Third party applications can poll a directory for these files and process the result. Information on processing delivery receipts is available here.
