Configuring Java Desktop SMS
Locate the JDesktopSMS.jar file on your computer or device. You may wish to move the file to a more suitable location if it was downloaded to a standard download destination, such as the desktop.
Open Java Desktop SMS by launching the JDesktopSMS.jar file, done on most operating systems by double-clicking the icon. Once opened, click Tools on the menu bar and then Options to begin configuration.
Enter your
CardBoardFish Personal Account username and password. The Default country code allows you to send messages to mobiles in that country in the local format. For example, code 44, the UK, will allow you to send messages from the Java Desktop
SMS to numbers starting 07 rather than 447.
Select whether or not you would like to receive delivery receipts.
You can now choose if you would like your name, or some other text, or your mobile number to be displayed as the sender of your messages. If you choose 'Mobile Number,' please see the article on
Registering a Mobile Number. If you would like to use a name, click on the 'Name' option and then type in some text of your choice. Click ‘OK’ to close the Options screen. Java Desktop
SMS is now ready for use.
