Importing a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet

Overview

The Windows Batch Sender can import xls files (Microsoft Excel 97, 2000, XP and 2003). Once imported, Excel files can be manipulated and saved as delivery lists for later use.

Steps

  1. Start the Windows Batch Sender
  2. Click on the 'Manage Lists' tab
  3. Click the 'List Manager' button
  4. Click the 'Browse' button
  5. Make sure that the 'File Type' drop-down is set to 'Microsoft Excel 97/2000/XP/2003'
  6. Locate the file on your computer/network share/removable media
  7. Select the file and click 'Open'
  8. Type the name of the worksheet within the file you would like to import (e.g. Sheet1) and press OK.
  9. Process the file normally

Please note

The Windows Batch Sender will only import the first six columns from a spreadsheet.
