Sending a batch message using the Windows SMS Server interface
You can send an
SMS message using the Windows
SMS Server interface by starting the Windows
SMS Server application from the Start Menu and clicking on 'Create Batch'.
From the Create Batch window you can now specify all the options for your message, including the Sender (which can be 11 alphanumeric digits or 16 numeric digits- see the
Originator article for more information), the message body, the type of message (plain text, UCS2, binary) and whether delivery receipts should be used.
You can then send the prepared message out to a list of numbers by clicking on 'Open numbers file'. For help with this file please read the
How Do I Upload A Number List? article.
When you are ready to send the message out click on 'Generate
SMS Batch' and the Windows
SMS Server will produce the messages you have asked for and send them out when it next checks the Outgoing directory.
