Batch Sender Originator Features

The Batch Sender automatically detects the type of originator you are sending to decide whether it is alphanumeric or if it is a number. In the case of a number, it will assume that any number that is shorter than 10 digits is a shortcode and does not require a + symbol in front of it. Additionally, any number beginning with a 0 will also not have a + placed in front of it as it is considered a national number.

Originator numbers that are longer than 9 digits and do not begin with a 0 will automatically have a + inserted at the beginning of the originator to make the originator replyable in International format when it is displayed on a mobile handset.

In addition to the above rules, it is possible to insert random digits into the originator by placing the special character combination $X in the Originator field when sending your batch. Each occurrence of $X will be replaced with 2 random digits. Therefore to achieve a 10 digit random number starting with 55, the following should be entered:

55$X$X$X$X

This may produce an originator such as:

5573029385
