Why was my message received multiple times?

Even if your message was delivered multiple times you are only charged once at the point the message request was accepted.

We always suggest when messages are received multiple times that you check that any code or systems are not running through a looped block of code.

Another possibility is that a failed message may be retried for up to 168 hours (48 by default) by the SMS centre and if the receiving handset is having communications difficulties it may be receiving the message but unable to acknowledge this to the SMS centre- leading to the message being resent. If this problem persists for more than an hour please contact technical support by logging into your account on our website and creating a new Support Request from the Support page and we will try to remove the message from the retry queue. Please read the Contacting Support article to learn more.
